We Help Workers Make Change

Justice at Work’s staff, board, and volunteers are dedicated to providing legal support for worker leadership and collective action.

In 2010, a group of Boston-area organizers and attorneys began to strategize how to best help immigrant worker centers in the region access workplace-related legal support. Over dinner at a founding board member’s kitchen table, they decided to found Justice at Work.

Carrying Out The Vision

In 2011, they launched the organization as a workers-rights focused legal nonprofit that would strengthen organizing by counseling groups of workers taking collective action, training workers and worker center staff, and directly representing worker center members whose rights were violated. Since then, Justice at Work’s attorneys, trainers, and paralegals have carried out this vision under the governance and guidance of a board of directors of lawyers and organizers with deep ties to immigrant and working-class communities.
